Pushya Bahula Panchami is still a few weeks away.

But, today is 6th January. It was on this day in the year 1847 Tyagaraja attained samAdhi.

Thank you.
Yes, I would be listening to the 'vigorous' rendering of the mahAn's pancaratnAs by the 'dressed to the nth degree' females and males (in some cases), cameras pointing, police.men jostling, and a few devotees singing their hearts out in the fringe--the drama of it all, without getting the essence of it. After a while, I will turn the television off.
