I know this was discussed earlier but I am not sure anything was finalized. I will be coming home i.e. leaving for Chennai this weekend (yay!) and will be in town from Dec 10th plus may be 2 days to account for jet-lag

) till Jan 8th.I will however be out of town between 17th and 20th.

I would very much like to meet the chennai rasikas.org folks. Perhaps we can set up a late afternoon date to meet followed by a concert we can attend?

Although I hope it will, even if this does not materialize, if anyone wants to hook up "out of band", please send me email.

I guess New Years Eve will be a great occasion.Or the First week of Jan.

I think Uday has a cool and big hall to accomodate all of us for 30 minutes

Rest of the days in December , It could only be a Saturday or Sunday afternoon , or may be a morning slot at Academy.
I am still waiting for Lakshmanjis confirmatory mail which wll tell me the dates on which he will be avaialable.
I will send you an email ,Arun, with my mobile number.Make sure you have one for your short stay here.That will help you in hooking up even at the last minute.

Could we maybe meet prior to the Academy kick-off concert? I am sure a lot of us are looking forward to Nedunuri Sir's concert, and a meetup around that might be a great idea. I am in Chennai from the 14th until the 20th - any time in this slot would be great depending on others' schedules.

Prashant does your concert offer still stand as well! 15th (prior to Nedunuri's concert) sounds good to me too....like Arun says even if it not a formal meet, let us just grab some vadas before the concert.

Have a family wedding on 30th. If there is a new-years-eve all-nighter, then I have a foreign visitor who wants to be taken to it.

I5th morning sounds good since Rasikas concert artistes Suryaprakash and Prasanna Venkatraman have late afternoon concerts that day.
I am in Chennai until the 27th. Hope I get to meet many rasikAs...

One idea may be to have 1-2 local people who can be the facilitators. Perhaps they can send us their mobile nos..(or post the nos here if ok)? Folks can then contact them and work out a meeting place and time.

It is indeed a fine suggestion.should cover 80 % of the members who want to meet .
Some one has to start somewhere,after all.
I will be there throughout the concert. And Vgvindan.
That makes it two.
I am willing to loaf around, after the concert is over, if others are engaged with some other concert elsewhere.

I don't expect any sympathy from those (they include my wife) who have completed half a day's work by the time I usually wake up --- but this is an occasion I'll gladly set the alarm for, and do my best to make it for the concert as well.

If only I still lived just around the corner <sob>

We could appropriate a corner of Nagaswara Rao park for an hour or two ...

I plan to be there in Chennai for a week from 21st to 28th Dec. Being a regular reader of the posts here at rasikas.org, I will be pleased to attend any meeting that happens during this time.

Fate has come to bite me.

Now I don't have to get up at 8.00am on 16th to be in Mylaopre for 9.00am --- I have to get up at 6.00am to be at a housewarming in Anna Naggar!

I think it will be easy to be in Mylapore on the way home, if this date is still on, but I'm afraid I'll be yawning a lot!
