I have always purchased Dance Head Set etc from Sukra Jewellers and from another store on Ranganathan street (Sridevi perhaps) Chennai. Are these good choices? Or does anyone have better ideas? I am looking for good quality Temple Jewellery. Thanks, Rita

Most dancers I know purchase from Sukra and Radha Gold in Mylapore, both of which are pretty well-known for their good temple jewelry. I believe Shanthi Tailors (also is Mylapore) carries a limited selection as well.

There is a place called Nagercoil in kanyakumari district.The jewelleries are originally made here.The jewelleries sold in Sukra etc are also mass made from people from nagercoil who have been shifted to Chennai.You can meet the people who make these jewelleries in nagercoil and give orders or talk to them over phone.Many commute back and forth and will home deliver your goods.

Are there any jewellers who will ship Bharatanatyam jewelry to the USA? I checked out some websites (eshubham, etc) and I'm not sure whether the costs are reasonable..any ideas on this?

Dear Nehaji,
I called up the nagercoil temple jewellery people and they were quite surprised to know that their number was posted in Rasikas.org. Mr. Swaminathan was quite happy infact. They were asking for the person's name since they were confident that it is one of their previous customers. Since I dont know the exact information, I couldn't give much details.
