Thanks for the announcements. We rue our lot for being too far away. It will still be a small consolation if the flow of pictures/audio/video continue so that we can maintain our links vicariously!

Let me convey my advanced praNaams to the time-honoured Elder vidvaan and viduShI.

CML,
And on Elders Day too!

Rajumds,
Hats off to you and the behind-the-scene 'labor of love' of all music lovers for their service. 'Should not miss' line up too.

Vidyaarthi's offering of the venue and the pakka vAdyams for the great elder is all very impressive! We are fortunate indeed to have him in our midst at the forum.

Hope Kalpakam Swaminathan's concert and the youngster's to follow get well attended too.

Wish we were there!

I will give you the Directions to reach the house.

From any point in chennai reach the West KK Nagar from Ashok Pillar there is a straight road going and at the end of the road there will be a right turn and also a left turn. The road on the left goes to Nesappakkam.

From that point i will give you the exact location.

At the Nesappakkam entrance road as u proceed straight you will see two petrol bunks on the left.
After the bunks turn left. Proceed on the same serpentine road until you reach a point where the road will automatically turn to right . Before this there will be a crematorium also. After you turn right you look for a Church with big red cross on your right. Just opposite to the Church there will be a small road going which is not generally visible but if you are driving slowly and able to see the Church then you cannot miss this turn. After you turn left go till the end of the road and you will see Santanam Sir's house facing you.
If you miss this left you will have to take the Next Left which is just adjacent to Nellai Stores after that you hv to take first left and then last right. This will also lead to his house. The first left street will be written as "Ezhumalayan Street".

Santanam Sir i hope i hv given correct location.

If you are proceeding from Pondicherry guest house you proceed further towards south and then take the last right which is Nesappakkam entrance road which i have mentioned in the beginning.

Hope the directions are clear.

Great concert & great team indeed. I have been longing to hear Sri Sankara Iyer singing. For those unfortunate people like me who are outside chennai, can a recording of the program be provided?

Is it in any way possible to share a recording of this concert with rasikas? A lot of us are outside chennai? Not only is this a senior vidwan but it is also a rare occasion to hear Sri GJR accompanying.

Thanks!

The reason why so many of us want the recording is not just because we'll not be able to attend the concert in person; but also because concerts of maha jambavans like tanjvoor shankara Iyer must be preserved for posterity...It's not that we get to hear such masters very often and when we do, I personally feel it's important that the concert is recorded...Thanks in advance...

I am very sad to be missing both these concerts.

I had hoped to be there for there first --- what a star-studded evening, but the British Airways fare structure was against me and my ticket would have been much more expensive for flying on the date I wanted; I had to choose an earlier date.

I'm most sad that I have missed the opportunity to see T K Murthy play from close up, and in our relatively informal atmosphere.
