It is nice to see a flute-violin duet, with both artistes on equal footing. I can't think of why a violinist should only be a "pakkavadyam" or accompanist to a flautist.

Of the above mentioned artistes, I have heard violinist Srikanth a couple of times as an accompanist and was impressed by his playing. Equal time for violin and flute is an interesting concept.
With the two percussion instruments, it's going to be a lively concert.

ramakriya,
For some reason, I thought Mysore Bros meant Nagaraj and Manjunath alone...

Mysore Brothers? Do they call themselves like that? I thought only Mysore Nagaraj and Mysore Manjunath called themselves Mysore Brothers....

I promptly did cut-paste the info I got from the organizer. If it says Mysore brothers, may be they go by that name now. I have no clue about that. Actually till recently I did not even know they were brothers!

Even before Nagaraj and Manjunath, there are another set of Mysore brothers - Mysore R Vishveshvaran, Mysore R Satyanarayana (and I think they had 2 other siblings) who went by names as Veene brothers and Mysore brothers.

Ramani and Lalgudi used to give "equal footing" concerts as well. I also have a CD of Ramani and KVN in which both vidwans are given equal prominence, at least on the cover!
