Congratulations to Sivasri on a dream 'arangETram'! Her prodigious talent and hard work are very evident in these clips...and if you listen to Ramjhi's comments you'll realize the tradition that she carries so competently, and gracefully on her slender shoulders....a true chip off the old block - a true custodian of her grandfather's art!

What was the dig that Ramjhi made at her dad?
Also, thanks are due as usual to Meena for unearthing these links....

I happened to be there on the 20th of May, Sunday. Student of Roja Kannan enthralled a packed bharathiya vidhya bhavan with many noted veterans from the field of music and dance. I was thrilled to see Karaikudi Krishnamoorthy mama on the mridangam. Later, during the speech it was told that mama has flown in from London on his own to accompany this kid, seeing her dance during his last visit. Mama was emotional during his speech. Leelaji was the chief guest, who was in all praise of the child. It was amazing to see this kid perform so elegantly, with precise perfection. She also did the nattuvangam and vocal for a piece. I had a sleepless night that day after seeing the padam varugalamo. A true prodigy. God send. let all our wishes be on her.

The child is so talented. Btw, how old is she? I was very impressed with her abinayam, much like a seasoned artiste. And her "Govardhan Giridhari" was amazing. Is she training in vocal too? Such a pleasing voice. And she showed amazing control over laya in her nattuvangam. One even finds krishnamurthy mama applauding the child at the end of the nattuvangam. May she continue to enthrall rasikas for a long time to come.

Although the video clips are of short duration, the samples do provide a view into the immense talent residing inside this cute "little" dancer. Her naTTuvAngam attempt shows such a maturity that it is hard to believe unless one sees it. All the best to this youngster to shine on the dance scene in the years to come!

Wow!! what an amazing kid she is. I was thrilled to see the videos. Thanks for the posting. I feel bad this thread has not received more posts on this kid. She is a real prodigy. She is equally talented in all sorts of things. The paper review says she was a model at age one. She has also acted in a TV soap at the age of 3 and she is a professional jingles singer. No doubt she is an outstanding student in academics too. Let this thread have more writings about this prodigious kid. Let all our wishes pave her way for the tradition carried to the next gen.
Thank you for the link.

But if you read post #4 & #8 by gnaniskanda who introduced himself as the child's father, you get a doubt that there is over jealous promotion of the child by the parents which was exactly the topic of discussion in Aishwarya thread
It is unfortunate that some "well-wisher" used gnaniskanda's userid/computer to post a glowing review without realizing that it could jeopardize the proper evaluation of the performance by real rasikas. When will people learn that even "if you drink milk under the palm tree people will think that you are drinking toddy"?
We had a different incident under gravikiran thread where some "well-meaning friend" (according to gravikiran) posted that the concert was" excellent" but the violinist was so-so.
Under these circumstances the legitimate (userid ) person should post disassociating themselves from the "spurious" posters. If the post "appears" to be self-serving they should declare that they were unaware of the "friend" using their computer/password.
Having said that let us not take anything away from that kid. She has talent. Period.

hello members
it is not necessary for us to post about our daughter in this thread. We had some friends and guests who visited us and used this system. If you have true knowledge of any art you would just watch it and enjoy it. The guest from france came to our place to wish the child in person. If you find this thread promoting the moderator can very well remove it.
Stop thinking that others would do as you do.
Gnaneshwari.

gnaniskanda/Gnaneshwari:
Your explanation is welcome which is what I surmised. It is skandaprasad who started the thread. You have every right to ask the mods/admin to remove the thread. As you noticed we all expressed our appreciation and gave our blessings to your daughter's performance after watching the video clips. We, the forum members, have good intentions at our hearts that good performances/talent should not be side-tracked by spurious posts. In one post under "gnaniskanda" the poster identified himself/herself as Ivan Thayumanavan. In the other the poster is unidentified. Hence the confusion.
These days it is getting difficult (perhaps the internet made it so) to separate fact from fiction. Hence the need for caution. Hope you understand.

I would like to know on what basis the posts were deleted. I had not seen posts subsequent to my post if there were any. I had simply pointed out that more than one person was posting from the same id. I feel the over alert modertaors should have detected that ,rather than deleting a post that pointed it out.

Rajumds,
The posts were not deleted, they were hidden. Anyways, I have restored them back.
Now if any of you want to know why the ID "Gnaniskanda" appears on messages posted by "Karma" and "Ivan Thayumanavan", the truth is this:
All three IDs belonged to the same user. I had requested people repeatedly not to use multiple IDs. Some of them wanted to act too wise. So I had to delete the duplicate IDs and club all the posts to the same original ID. Whereupon they feel exposed.
Another thread posted by the duplicate ID "Karma" was this - http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php?id=2468
I will be doing this for others' duplicate IDs as well. We too are humans with a limit to our patience.
People, this is not a tehelka website. We want people to act normally and in turn develop healthy relationships between ourselves. There is no need to use duplicate IDs to praise oneself or one's kids. If there is talent, nothing can suppress it. If there is no talent, nothing can exalt it. Lets not use empty hyperboles and hypocrisy.

And best wishes to Sivasri to grow in her profession.

It is advisable to make a post in one location only, even though it may appear to relate to different threads.
Hence, I have deleted the entry for this same post under Music and Festivals. Thanks
And best wishes to Sivasri to grow in her profession.
As far as sivasri is concerned, the post by gnAnEshwari under the gnAniskanda userid explains the situation well. Their guests wanted to express their appreciation of the child's performance and used the hosts' computer. Such info comes to light only when the original member (with the userid in question) comes forward to explain. Another way out of the confusion for the "guests" who use someone else's computer is to write a prominent disclaimer to the effect that they are using someone else's computer on a stopgap basis. That sure would help.
All this (commotion and bustle) does not take away one bit from sivasri's talent.

Dear Forum administrator.
Please close this discussion before this ends up into a heated debate on slinging mud at the parents and dragging that gifted child into the fray. It has happened before you know. This has been a healthy discussion thus far till this latest post from Sanchari. Please look out for such posts and nip it in the bud
