15th June 2007 at Raga Sudha Hall at 6.30 the Remembrance day of our Guru Ramanathapuram M N Kandaswamy will be observed. On this occasion Tanjavur Sankara Iyer's concert has been scheduled. Request rasikas to attend the concert.

On this occasion I would also like to take this opportunity to request members at Rasikas to provide audio clippings of M N Kandaswamy Pillai for pleasure of listening. Thank you.

I could find only three concerts. But that is because of tardiness in labelling by the original recorders, I presume.
Here is one of Sandhyavandanam Srinivasa Raos concerts with MS Anantharaman at Max Meuller Bhavan

Will follow it up with other two - TK Rangachari and Mali.
That is if thanjavur does not beat me to it.

Hullo Balaji,
Guru Brahma Guru Vishnu Guru Devo Maheshwarah
Guru Sakshat Tasmai Sri Gurave Namah
Both yourself and Arunprakash should be truly appreciated for organising the function in memory of your Guru. The most valuable priceless treasure of this world is Guru's blessings. He would have been so happy to see you perform so well if he had been alive now. I will upload more of Appa's concert where your revered veteran Guru has accompanied him. Wish you all the best.

the track label says
TKR-MN Ganeshapillai-T Nagaraja-MN Kandaswamy-1968
does it mean there are two mridangams?I can hear a Ghatam though.
The mridangam is sooo very soothing , in this concert.

And what a fine singer TKR is !!

Dear Balaji,
Here is one of the concert of Appa with your Guru but sadly the Avarthanam is missing. I will late try to locate the tape and get the avarthanam also. As it is an old one, the record quality is not so good.

This is a double representation from the family. MN Ganesa Pillai, I believe, is MNK's brother.

I am sad to have missed this occasion. In London I would have been eating at my Guruji's house, and getting him to talk about his guruji and his student days. I recall that, last time I was there in London, my guruji called his wife to find MKN's very own plate for him to eat off.

I have been to the event in Chennai twice.

I spend so many evenings quietly at home, it is such a shame that I both missed the announcement for this and that I had another engagement anyway.

Dear Balaji,
Sorry, I have to apologise to you. I very much wanted to attend the function yesterday with my father. Truly due to unexpected commitment in the last minute I could not attend. I am the unfortunate one to have missed it. I am sure that the function must have gone successfully.
