Kji,
I have committed to doing a survey for an NGO this weekend. If it gets over on Saturday, then I will try to make it to the discussion.

I would like to add a few observations on Suryaprakash's singing...
One of the all time great voices, I am sure there is no second opinion ....no limitations here!
A divine stage appearance and the lovely expression makes this video, a one for keeps...Suryaprakash must be a photographer's rage! Spl. mention of MAS's acknowledging nods and Sankaranarayanan's agility caught on the camera!
could see lot of inspiration from Madurai Somu style, esply in Bhavapriya...
Proficient in both systems Carnatic and Hindusthani and a beautiful way of keeping both seperate....Mr.Coolkarni..."alag-alag", to borrow a phrase from the late M O Srinivasan from whom I have learnt a few bhajans. Durbari is rendered as pure HM and begada is a stark contrast.
Most of all, a very natural flow of singing, without any pretence...I read a review while in Bangalore, where the critic has felt the same....

Besantnagar
There is a stretch of road from the Bus Terminus to a Traffic Signal junction enroute to Kalakshetra.
This eatery stands halfway on this stretch of road.
Ask for Mahararajah Stores or Eden Restaurant , they are all on that stretch.
Anyway I am coming there at 10AM sharp.
Hope others will join.

One realises that the meeting is going great when the waiter - long after he has collected the first bill - comes and enquires if we want anything more !!
It was a bit like my college days ,sitting in a group at Mysore cafe near Gadiyarada Khamba (Clock Tower) and order many rounds of Tea.
We should have more of these meetings. It was soothing to know how subjects like Cancer had touched all of us at some point in our lives and the way Music has made all the difference.
As Nick said, it was a Wonderful Morning.
