Thanks for the nice article. There has been a lot of work done in the area of motor learning and playing the piano. I'm not aware if similar research is ongoing with respect to other instruments and / or Indian classical music. Children with Down syndrome are particularly fond of listening to music, enjoy playing musical instruments and demonstrate significant learning ability in this domain.
