Re: Padma Awards 2025
Happy to hear this. She wasn't born in modern times when young talents are not only nurtured but showcased.
The way she played as a child! For a young woman of her times, bringing up one's family was generally considered to be a woman's be all and end all. Not only did she do that, but also nurtured them and her grandchildren with music.
She surprised listeners as a youngster with her gift, grew up with it and as she had to move north when she got married, she gained knowledge in hindusthani music as well. She shines in both genres. It's a treat to watch her play with her children and theirs!
What a gift of a woman, from such a gifted family of violinists!
Congratulations on the award and may her family's gift glow in generations of musicians and in her students
