I was listening to the second one as i peeped into this entry. It is splendid. Maitreem bhajatha - her singing is next only to MS's.

KVC,Like minds. She is a superb presenter.
However I feel the overenthusiastic percussion (+amplification) has drowned out some superb singing, in many places.
Sriranjani has to watch out for this, her voice is rather soft.

Youtube notification from TVG channel:

Umpteenth + 1 Todi - Third Item - Enjoy.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ov42FaODPjk

Bit of a disappointment that she sang himadri sutE in rUpakam 4 offset on the second tap, instead of 4 offset triSra naDai Adi - which she did use in BSU 2014 : https://youtu.be/k-xCD8uTamM?t=227 for a similar SyAma SAStri piece in rItigauLa

SyAmakrishna in that also starts 2 offset - but she handled it nicely.

What a wonderful presentation of Kedara as well as a great MD composition! Hats off to TNSK.
The mood reminded me a lot of MDR.

During the season, Shri. Sriram Parasuram gave a fantastic lecdem on the Raga Kalyani. Towards the end he briefly mentioned about Hamsa Kalyani and a composition in this Raga by Thanjavur Shankara Iyer. I was aware of this raga and was under the impression that this was an invention of Shri. Ashok Madhav and have heard his composition a few years ago - rendered by Sikkil Gurucharan.

Ever since Sriram Parasuram mentioned this, I was longing to hear the song. I didn't have to wait for long. Shri. Injikudi Subramaniam has rendered it in his recent concert at Nada Inbam. We are fortunate to record it and archive it.

"Amba Shri Parameshwari" - Hamsa Kalyani (which has Hamsadhwani notes in the Arohanam and Kalyani notes in the Avarohanam - similar to Mohana Kalyani)

Thyagaraja Kriti-

Are there many kruthis in SriRaagam? By Thyagaraja?
May not be.
Apart from the well known Pancharathna kruthi,
this may be the only other kruthi.
The greatness is in every aspect.
Great lyrics, great raagam, great rendering.
Still subtly different from entharo mahaanu..
:

I agree, 'nAma kusuma' is one of the great meditative compositions of Tyagaraja that we are fortunate to have inherited.

yuktamu kAdu (gAdu) is the only kriti in Sri ragam by Thyagaraja other than this and the well-known pancharatnam. Here is one good rendition by Raji Gopalakrishnan. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs-J843RqtM

@thenpaanan

Thank you, Sir.
I referred to sangeethapriya site and found these three only.
Then searching youtube, i found a few more renditions.
There are a number of charanams foo.
.
-yuktamu-gAdu-
-SrI--Triputa-
1
BV Raman & BV laxman.

2
D.K.Pattammamal & Nithyashree Mahadevan"

3
Amritha Murali
https://youtu.be/mQB3Ks7Qp9o?si=C6e6UqwcRLFA7JqW

.amrita murali does a great rendition here, though with some frills. Guided by her guru sriramkumar.
The best however is by BVR/BVL.
just 3 mins.
The lyrics are a class by themselves.
Thanks to Govindan Sir.

.
O Lord SrI rAma! O Lord who is kind towards devotees! O Redeemer of those fallen!
It is not appropriate for You to remain without protecting me.
You being the Lord having the three powers (of projection, sustenance and in-folding), it is not appropriate for You to remain without protecting me.
Has Your attribute, of subduing one’s previous wrong-doings, become ineffective in this World?,
did Your fame, that ‘Having said, He will not falter’, say that ‘I am not good enough’?,did Your grace say that ‘I will not come to protect Your devotees who are not familiar'?,have all Your powers been expended towards devotees who appeared earlier?
did sItA, who is always by Your side, tell ‘do not speak (to him)'?
did lakshmaNa tell very angrily, ‘what concern is it to You’?
did bharata charmingly fill his eyes with tears of joy (looking at which You forgot about me)?
did AnjanEya hold Your holy feet swearing that ‘don’t do it’?
did brahmA utter a lie that ‘His devotion is not good enough’?
did sarasvati utter many a words that ‘it is not possible for me (to vouch for him)’?
did this tyAgarAja forget to seat You in his heart? or,
did Your sister, (Mother) dharma samvardhani, tell ‘don’t go to join him’?
Please let me know..
.

Is it possible for anyone not steeped in the foremost ithihasa of this holy land to
hear this kruthi saahithyam with full understanding?
..
