The concert followed an award function and therefore started around 7.50 PM. Though short, the concert did not lack the energy and enthusiasm associated with Abhishek’s concerts. Natakapriya and Kalyani kritis were featured with detailed raga alapana . Natakapriya raga alapana had its moments of brilliance with several ‘only Abhishek can execute’ phrases.
Pahimam Brihannayike was featured without the accompaniment of Mridangam and Kanjira. Whether it was planned or did the percussionists decide to abstain at that moment? Whatever it was the effect was a treat.
Tani was featured in the second kriti itself which ensured that there was no walkout of Rasikas.
Who would dare to present Nagumomu as a concluding Tukkada? Abhishek would.
