Are you referring to jAvalis where only the nAyaka(hero) sings and not the nAyika(heroine)?

Srikantam nagendra Sastri of bangalore has published a book/cd with ten rare pada-s inherited from the Chintalapalli musical tradition..
His book lists these:
- ChAlu nI vayyAramu in DhanyAsi
- sarasaku biguvEla in pUrvakalyAni
- RAvE nA celi in anandabhairavi

All three by pattabhirAmiah, which seem to be requests made by the nayaka asking the nayika to acquiesce etc..

I suppose that is Y chromosome enough for you..! ;)

Lji, please help with lyrics!!

Keerti, the deliciously insouciant composition describes a chagrined krishNa trying to woo a gopi who is totally uninterested in him - he says, "a mere snap of my fingers (ciTTike vEsitE), and a bevy of beauties will line up at my feet. Do you know who I am? My name is vENugOpAla" - the rest of the composition describes krishNa getting progressively more desparate, because she continues to maintain the facade of 'that don't impress me much'!

curioser and curiouser!

I also remember the English-telugu manipravALa javali in kharaharapriya which goes 'O my lovely lalana, pommantini'

One caraNam is 'ituvanti step, is it fit to take..? come sit a while, let me convince you'..!

I think prof.SambamUrthy mentions this one somewhere..
