I just learned of the passing on of noted Andhra violinist Peri Sriramamurthy. An obituary by his student Shivkumar Kalyanaraman can be found here

Peri-garu was a senior violinis, a great accompanist and a very simple and unassuming person. A great loss to Carnatic Music community, especially in Andhra.

I only knew the name of peri sriramamurthy. Unfortunately since he was based out of Andhra in the last 20 years despite me going to so many live concerts , I may have missed his few live concerts. I am writing this after I was clarified that late peri sriramamurthy played for trs choodamani concert

Best wishes for his son thyagaraju to blossom as a great violinist. This is a late post from The Hindu as he passed away in 2016.
