I'm doing some research on early women mridangam vidushis. Pudukottai Ranganayaki ammal tops the seniority list in what I have seen. If anyone knows more about her career, her playing, contact with her family/disciples - please do share it with me. I will duly acknowledge in my article.

In one of the early posts, forum Member 'mridhangam' (Mannarkoil J.Balaji) had made a mention about her grandson :
"Muthukumar (Tirukogarnam-Pudukkottai-Grandson of Ranganayaki Ammal disciple of Palani one of the very few lady mridangists)"
