Meena/RC/DRS/Kulkarni sa'ab/Lji,
Any info on this book by MV will be much appreciated:
'Na Kanda Kalavidaru', which was translated into English as 'With Masters of Melody'
Is it still in press (at least the translation?)

DRS,
I apologize. I have read your messages and have contacted the bookstore that Meena suggested and am in the process of getting pricing info. I was waiting to get all the info (price, do they mail overseas, S&H etc.) before posting: I was not ignoring you!

Sangita Kalanidhi Vasudevacharya has penned two books in kannada:

1. nA kaMDa kalAvidaru ( Life sketch of great Muscians in kannada)
2. nenapugaLu ( Reminiscenses in Kannada).

His Grandson S. Krishana Murthy had translated the first book while serialising them in Deccan Herald long ago. The same is now availble in Book form as mentioned by DRS. I think some of them i had posted them here long ago. Probably it was lost when the site crashed.

But Mr. Krishna Murthy himself has written two books on the same lines:

1. vAggEyakAra VasudEvacArya 9 An account of his life and works in kannada)

2. saMgIta samaya (containing fascinating facts and anecdotes on Maharaja KRW IV, Vid. Venkatagiriyappa, Vid. Chikka Ramarayaru, Tiger Varadachar & his protege MDR, Karaikudi brothers, ARI, Dwaram VN, Chowdiah, MSS, Dr.V.D.I, RKS, JCRW, MV etc) - a Must read for rasikas.

I am given to understamd shortly a comprehensive book containg complete works of MV will be published by SKM

I bought this book (89 pages)from KMBC in January this year! It makes for wonderful reading. It has chapters (his experiences with) Veena Seshanna, Veena Subbanna, Patnam Subramanya Iyer, Mysore Sadashiva Rao, Ramnad Srinivasa Iyengar, Tiger Varadachariar, Muthiah Bhagavatar etc. Very interesting!
