A young and energetic vocalist with high potential kept the audience shackled to their seats till the end. Kambodhi and Latangi were excellent. Sruti Sarathi Violinist did her best in Lathangi with spontaneous reply to the main Artiste. Kishore Ramesh's thani was quite enjoyable.

The 2 hrs concert with mainly St T s krithis was excellent. OST continued in quick succession of kritis. Pappu did his best and his niraval in Kalyani was pleasing. Mirudhangam closely followed the Vidwan and Thani was good. As usual all sat till the end there was perfect silence through out. It was like a Lec Dem. He spoke about the greatness of St T. He mentioned that He is the 7th lineage of direct Sishya parampara of St T. Semmangudi and Narayanaswamy in the 5th and 6th place. One should enjoy music only when understand the meaning. St T's Aradhana is conducted world over and T gets the priority amongst the trinity. St T treats all Gods in equal status. His views on musical instruments are equalt and the same. He sang few lines of kritis substantiating his statements . This two hours concert is not sufficient and he needs at least 3 hrs next time. Secretary gave vote of thanks at the end. Organizers mainly President and secretary expect more youngsters to attend and admission to them is free.
Though in Perambur area more music schools are available yet students are quite reluctant to attend such concerts. Music Teachers should insist their wards on the greatness and experience of listening concerts.

It is customary by now OST always talks about his Tyagaraja lineage.I have heard him in multiple venues in Bangalore.In every concert he drives home this point.I feel this is a bit over doing the lineage issue.
Exactly similar words as stated by Thanjavooran.
I feel his vidwat and concert are enough proof but should avoid praising himself.

He could have mentioned a line about his father Sangita Bhushanam O V Subramaniam from whom he learnt music initially in Delhi.

What is wrong in repeating it ? The audience could be different in different sabhas and it will be an added knowledge for those who have not heard him speak before of his lineage. And some people do take pride in reiterating it ! Swaraprastharam after Niraval was excellent. The main Byravi was rendered beautifully. with utmost care. Thani was excellent and all sat till the end. In general the whole concert was sweet and soft. As usual In general an evening for me with very chaste C M . It is sad to note that members do not turn up fully which will be a boost to the vidwans on stage. Secretary thanked the artistes for their co operation in making the event a success.

Excellent concert. The varnam with Karagarapriya, shanmugapriya etc was new to me. Enjoyed for the first time.
Nagaswrali Niraval was very elaborate and pleasing. Violin's reply was good. charukesi was well handled. Mirudhangam carried the day. He enjoys vocalist talent during alapana. This is a rare quality of the Pakka vadhyam artiste. Poor turnout of Rasikas was little painful. Most energetic and talented vocalist has very bright future. Kutcheri format is little different.. In general a very good concert and all sat till the end.

A well planned concert. Selection of songs was good. A very perfect paatantharam. Learnt music from her Mother T.V. Soundaravalli.. Quite traditional. She is from a musical family and her father is an authority in Murugan related literatures.
Dhanyasi and kanthimathi were excellent. As usual performance of Violin and Mirudhangam was good.
My observation
The kutcheri scheduled for 18 45 hrs. Though vocalist was present well before Pakka vadhyam . reached the venue at 19 00 hrs. The answer is very simple. Traffic jam. Sruthi alignment for 5mits. Kutcheri started very late. One can notice the agony and anxiety of the organizers. The Hall was full. Such things can never happen in any other sabhas. As it is deep North chennai, Rasikas are made to wait.

An excellent evening with expert musician on stage. Well planned concert with totally new kritis and Ragas not figured in the series.earlier. Begada very well handled and so Karakarapriya. Papanasam Sivan's Parathpara was very well rendered. Violin closely followed with suitable reply. As regards to song selection I presume he would have taken clue from Secretary to present new kritis and ragas avoiding repetition. Thani with Kanjira was nice with subtle strokes of Mirudhangam. The Hall was full and In fact all sat till end and no bee lining during Thani. Vocalist thanked the accompanying artistes besides special mention about the sound arrangement. Only few artistes do this. A very good concert in this series.

Thanks Thanjavooran for your prompt detailed review. Yes Sankaan Namboodiri never disappoints. After a brief lull, this year he is singing 10 concerts. I very much liked the selection in the above concert. Would have loved to attend this concert. But distance is a big problem for me. He is singing in Nungambakam on 16. I will attend that.

Kanchana is a small village near Mangalore. It has full of traditional music community. Even formers can enjoy chaste Carnatic music. Selection of songs were good though repetition of ragas could be noticed. Violin and Mirudhangam supported nicely to enhance the beauty of the concert. Vedantha Ramanujam of Parampara the sponsors was present from the beginning to the end. secretary thanked the sisters and wanted to explain the traditional bani of Kanchana.
Mirudhangam was notconventional but with two parts assembled of course with bolt and nut. In general Rasikas enjoyed the chaste music till the end.

Karakarpriya by both was nice and pleasing. IMO vocalist should consult Secretary for presenting new Ragas avoiding repetition in such series.. Vocalist and Mirudhangam are couple in real life and excellent support rendered in the concert. Thani was quite enjoyable. Vocal support by Aditi from London. A quite enjoyable evening. Chaitra is a disciple of Bombay Jayashree. Secretary made a special mention about Aditi who was on Tambura assisting the vocalist. It is really a pity that no mention in any media about this only Margazhi Utsavam celebrated in deep North chennai.

In 2020 . Secretary mentioned that PSS is entering at its 90th year and commence programme with Thyagaraja Aradhanai.
