I know what you might be thinking. Isn't this the same as the 59th mElakarta dharmavati?
But Dikshitar kritis are sung in dharmavati today! Right?
Well, as I found out (only today in fact), dhAmavati goes under a mEla with all the 7 notes, but is quite different from the modern scalar dharmavati in that way too many phrases are non-linear.
To quote right out of the SSP's English Translation - "...For the dhAmavati rAga, the vishesa prayogas are — (s (g) g r g m p) - (d p m p d S) - (D g r s) (s d p m p g r s)."
The most striking non-linearity is the tendency to avoid N3 in the aro and avarohanam, the rest I could explain away as being all dhATTu phrases. Therefore PDS and SDP are more common. PN however is used and N3 does make its appearance elsewhere.
So here is the original SSP version of parandhAmavati jayati (rAga mudra in the first word) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MDNEnOxNPFY - by G Ravikiran - quite different from what we know of dharmavati today.
The chittaswaram tells you more of the swara prayogas in this rAga. The line "nirantaram guruguha janani brhadeesha ranjani" fits quite naturally into this tune (on some modern versions, it sounds a little out of rhythm to the melody)
I am not however ruling out the current versions of the song - that will feature in the dharmavati thread.
