A truly wonderful concert. The pieces were all handled with enormous gait. Each piece had a distinct flavour in the rendition. If one looks at the list, it would seem that many closely related rAgAs were taken and only mELakartAs were elaborated. That said, the way it was presented, there was not a place during the concert, where one felt anything wrong or different. It was all pure music and presented very well. A concert enjoyed much and to be cherished.

Small correction - I think it should be priyangukaLikASyAmam (प्रियङ्गुकळिकाश्यामम्) - if I understand it correctly, budha is described as being as dark as the bud of a priyangu flower....

What a beautiful concert this is. Thanks to the YT recording.
Artists such as Smt. Alamelu Mani, Rama Ravi, Suguna Varadachary et all in their prime would have featured more in the chennai concert circuits had sabhas such as Nada Inbam, Parivadini etc existed in the 70s.
