What a Reethigowla! With a voice that goes sometimes like a veena, sometimes like a flute & filled with the sweetness of a divine voice, she got into sawal-jawab mode with the violinist - covering the full range of the raga in a leisurely mode. Even the accompanists were actively goading along the team seeming almost ready to grab the violin.
Exquisitev swaras section bringing out the beauty of Ni & Ma. The percussion team is on top of every pattern. She is putting the kodu & thry are putting the roadu.
Wow! Wish I had experienced that juTkA ride! She is one intelligent singer, on top of all her pluses.
Wish I had heard beloved Sankara Sivam avargaL's creation from her...
Kudos to Kalarasana for organizing this concert this side of town and opening it up for all. With most of the 1st week of December gone, this may become the highight of the week for me!
Sriranjani made it a point to announce all the non-trivial facts about the items she included in the concert including composers and ragas at the appropriate time. Very much appreciated by the audience.
Kalarasana - Is this not held in Rani Seethai Hall ?
Seems like the music of her father in his prime. Particularly the Jamshedpur concert of his on which he sand a keerawani is etched in my memory !!
Lovely review. Would love to listen to the reethigowla. Is there a recording or a YT upload ?
kalarasana moved from rani seethai hall to chinmaya hall in chetpet. now from this year they have moved to raaga sudha hall. it is,sad that more sabhas like kalarasana nadopasana in recent years is moving to ragasudha hall instead of spreading more .
we need like sv krishnan atleast 2 to 3 more founders who build halls like ragsudha away from mylapore

Ragasudha / Arkay Convention Centre are 2 halls where I guess the best concerts are performed today. The hall is compact and the sound systems excellent.
