Sri Krishnagana Sabha s M S centinery celebrations Sashwathi Prabhu s concert was mentioned. It says she sang a bhavaladen Annapoornei in Dwijawanthi .is there a Dwijawanthi Kriti Annapoorne other than Sama. Also Sarojadalanetri is by Swathitirunal according to the critic. These things make one confused.
Few months back one critic who writes frequently had mentioned Sadasivabrahmendrar as the composer of the song Paramapavana in Ranjani whereas the composer is Meesu Krishna Iyer.because the line Paramahamsavara Sadasivabrahmendrar comes in the anupallavi he concluded like that. The word Meesu Krishnanuta comes in the charanam.
Nowadays everyone carries a pocket book to refer about the ragam and composer.it will be better if one writes after referring.

Why have you not mentioned the critic's names?
Everybody should know who are the persons who are reviewing without any knowledge.

Malavi,
If you share the link, we may enjoy reading the review more. Quite possibly, the reviewer listed items down with someone's help and mixed it up while writing.
The best instance of a Hindu review was when, some 16-17 years ago, a concert in Yavanika Bangalore got a rave review. We had been to the concert venue and had found that the concert had been cancelled. So a full review witn songs and such details was covered in a concert thayt didn't take place at all!

IMO, quality started deteriorating from around the time it converted to 8 col layout from 6 col layout. Correlation me thinks. Certainly not causation.

Re: Friday review in The Hindu
I wonder how long the concert reviews will last. The Hindu is about being a fashion magazine these days.
They want to sell their paper to the next generation. They know as well as we do that the next generation is not much found in the concert halls. To be honest, it is pretty hard to keep a printed newspaper alive these days, and if I owned it, I'd be forced to listen to marketing crowd.
