Polite, non-threatening sort of emails have been sent to websites asking them not to host audio - possibly once even asking a site where such audio wasn't even offered! (the company, CDW, cares so much for all such audio of course) It's possible that a company as worldly - in fact, as universally famous as CDW must have lost all that revenue solely as a result of MIO (and/or such sites). Furthermore, it's unlikely MIO wouldn't have responded to these emails by not switching the streaming audio links into download links for this time. CDW are far too intelligent to let themselves lose more revenue than they any they already did, before filing the copyright suit. It's also very unlikely that people wouldn't have not jumped at this opportunity and used various download sources to share all the audio available on MIO in massive files, unofficially.
This information may or may not have been discovered when having unofficial talks with people, who may or may not host other websites where such audio may or may not have previously existed.
