Ananda nadamidum paadham

Hi

can somebody give me the meaning of the song "Ananda nadamidum paadham". the composer is Sri Papanasam sivan.

I am not able to understand this " As vyAghrapAda (puli tAnum) and patanjali bow down (paNiyum)", what is puli tanum means(you have mentioned it as vyaghrapada), can you please explain.

vyAghrapAda was a sage who was frustrated that flowers within his reach had been grazed by animals and were therefore unfit for him to collect and offer to the lord, and helonged to be able to jump and reach the flowers that were at a much higher level - the lord granted his wish by making his feet those of a tiger (vyAghra) - so, much like Tiggerrrr of the Hundred Acre Wood, vyAghrapAda was able to bounce (er, jump) high into the forest canopy and collect fresh flowers. He is therefore called vyAghra pAda (one with the feet of a tiger) - in tamizh this gets translated into puli pAdar, or just puli as in this composition. puli tAnum literally means, vyAghrapAdar as well.

The full phrase is 'gAnam tanai toDarndu gnyAnam tarum' - gAnam - 'music', a particle (grammatical usage) that qualifies the gAnam as the one that will be followed by (tODarndu) - for purposes of choreography, tanai doesn't need to be shown separately.

Another interprettation of the AP can be:
A: gAnam tanait-toDarndu jnAnam tarum pErinba mOnam tazhaikkum yOga vAnam tanil magizhndu (Ananda naTam iDum pAdan...)
The one whose feet (pAdan) dance (iDum) the Ananda tANDavam (Ananda naTam) in exultation (magizhndu) in (tanil) the state of yOgic trance (yOga vAnam) [1] where the silence (mOnam) of exhilaration (pErinba) that grants (tarum) music (gAnam tanai)followed by (toDarndu) knowledge/self-realization (gnyAnam), flourishes (tazhaikkum).

[1] vAnam means the sky, but yOga vAnam is a 'space' in our consciousness that is created through yOgic dance - it is in this assembly (sabhA) inside our consciousness (cit) that the lord dances - citsabhA therefore refers to both the physical place in cidambaram, as well as within ourselves - same way, vAnam refers to the sky, but also the 'space' created within ourselves through yOga.
