NickH, here is your opportunity to hear a different English Note than the one sung by MMI, TVS and Suryaprakash. :))

About a year ago when he performed at Sastri Hall in Mylapore, he mentioned that Harikesanallur Sri Muthiah Bhagavathar has composed a few different English Note compositions and sang one of them.

This would be an interesting discussion, the so called 'English compositions', while I see nothing English about the 'notes' that is popular. Recently, I listened to an Englsih Javali ( Oh My Lovely Lalana ..) performed by Shreekantham Nagendra Shasthry , composed by Karur Shivaramaiah. Probably, Lakshmanji can help.

i must add in this context that it is mainly due to the sincere and dedicated efforts of Prince Aswati Tirunal Rama Varma that the greatness of veteran artists of Kerala like Prof.Venkitaramanan, Smt Parassaala Ponnammal etc.has been propagated outside the home state.

Let us listen to the stalwarts!
