Dear all

Would like to get more informations on the folk dances of india, especially the Goomar dance of rajasthan ,Garba - Gujarath and various other states of India. We have a program coming up and the theme involves different folk styles of India. Please suggest VCD's or DVD's that can be purchased online on these styles. Pls suggest websites from where I could get more informations on the same. The prog is coming up by the end of November so will have to plan immediately.

vini.........actually kalakshetra(chennai, India) has a lot of folk dances choreographed...... they have an amazing variety.... bamboo dance from assam, dances from madhya pradesh, west bengal, as u asked for... ghumar, garbha, suppada...., kolkali and kai kottukali from kerala, kurathi dance from tamilnadu, kummi, kolattam.............the list is really big..if u can find out from any ex-student of kalakshetra, he/she may be able to guide u or maybe even help u with the choreography and costumes..do find out if u have an ex-kalakshetra student/teacher near u
