Re: Bharatanatyam books
Hi
sometime back I saw this article in kutcheri buzz. Hope you find this book useful. I haven't bought it yet but I am sure you would find some details or if you want you can write to the members of Prayathnam to clarify your doubts.
Thanks.
The article:
Prayathnam in Chennai, India is celebrating a milestone in the areas of dance education and learning tools.
On Nov.13, 4 pm onwards, it is hosting an event at the MFAC sabha hall, Mylapore, to release the first volume of a handbook for classical dancers.
Since 2009, Prayathnam, a collective of classical dancers has been involved in formulating a common dance syllabus (practical and theory) as well as annual examinations to enable students to equip themselves with basic knowledge of Bharatanatyam.
‘Anthara’ will be releasing a CD of rare 'pada varnams' on this occasion.
But the focus will be on the release of the handbook for dancers (volume 1) on the day.
The chief guests are Bhagavatulu Seetarama Sarma, Nandhini Ramani and Radha Krishnan.
There will be a performance by Shanmuganathan and Rakesh as part of this group's ongoing endeavor to promote talented artistes.
Can anybody tell me where do I get this book and also the price of the book. Also if you have purchased could you pls. share briefly with others about the contents of the book.
