My best wishes for the function.
I was able to attend a couple of years ago, when the admirers' circle honored Sri Tanjavur Ramamoorthy, followed by an excellent TMK concert with Sri Kamalakar Rao.
Hope you can upload the video of at least a part of the event to youtube.

Rememberance day of Harishankar
The function started at 18 10 hrs with invocation song by Kamakshi [ visually impaired ] Sri Ganesa Saranam in Desh.
The delay in starting is due to late arrival of PSN.
Nerkunram Shankar welcomed the gathering. As he has chosen the wrong script for reference fumbled for a while and located the right script and continued . This unit has honoured sofar 4 artistes Viz Mayavaram Somu, Thanjavur Ramamoorthy, Trichi Thayumanavar and E M Subramaniam
The A V presentation was on . The first presentation was with OST and Trichy Sankaran on 49th anniversary of MFA
The second was again with Viswa and TS in USA. There was no audio and only Video could be seen. As there was some problem with the Laptop , one rasika [ Grand son in law of SSI a computer Engineer ] came forward and fixed the problem. Though the Video was sharp audio was very noisy. But it was an excellent clipping. Shri Suriya narayana honoured the guests with Golden shawl.

In the first rememberance day also he participated and shared his memories.
Himself and Kanjira Nagarajan were instrumental in arranging an appointment in AIR
He had very close association with Harishankar.
On the day of interview in AIR he did not turn upto 11 00 hrs and then along with Nagarajan went to his house located him in a shop and brought to the radio station and dropped him back in his house. He was a simple man.
His income was necessary for his family as he had to educate his sisters and brothers
He was transferred to Delhi AIR and he looked very simple to the HM counterparts and they did not recognise him as an Artiste.
After hearing his playing for one or two concerts , they admired his talents and started respecting him.
He was an example for proper and rythmic playing of kanjira
At present more audios and videos are available for proper guidelines which was denied in earlier times and one would imagine only how Mamoondiya pillai and other stalwarts would have played.
As regards to Shri Rangachari he was closely associated with BV Raman and Laxman.
He is happy that Rangachari is getting this honour today.
OST
PSN has already narrated the complete history of HariShankar and nothing is left for him to share.
Karaikudi Mani was instrumental for introducing HS to him.
The first concert was at Neelankarai Ashramam along with Karaikudi Mani.
At PSS sabha a concert was arranged along with KM and Bangalore Nagaraj and it was enjoyed and praised by all.
HS 's accompanied him at Sruthi laya and it was his last concert.
He had good control and perfection with single hand.
He could not control his enthusiasm while playing thani at an AIR concert where the time limit is the main.
He was one of the Best Vidwans he had ever seen.
During a trip to Paris, France one Vidwan withdrew himself from the trip after coming to know that he has to play along with HS
LGJ used to mention that immediately he repeats what ever korvai he plays on the spot.
KS Rangachari is the most deserving Artiste to receive today's honour and has played along with PMI number of concerts [DKP]
A citation and a cash purse of Rs 5000/= were handed over to KSR
KSR
In his acceptance speech he mentioned that he knew that he will get such awards only at the later part of his life when he is old.
As a Senior Citizen one enjoys lot of advantages.
One can escape very easily in musical world because of old age.
If such awards are given 50 yrs before the case will be different and he would have more responsibility.
Now he is not going to learn any more and should try to retain the memory to repeat the phrase in a concert.
One should play without any mistake and it is very important.
If an elderly person dies it is different but untimely passing away of HS at an very early age of 43 is more painful.
HS was denied concerts as he excelled other Artistes.
He used to repeat whatever is played
As an advice to Artiste he mentioned that the earnings should be saved cautiously for future.
After reaching the age of 50 practicing will not be possible. One should be health conscious too.
Nerkunram Shankar the anchor person was honoured by Golden shawl by HS's mother by Suriya narayana.

CA Rajasekar compered the show.
OST's concert started by 19 25 hrs .

Karunai kalyana sundara rama Varali
Amma ravamma Kalyani N, S
Kaliki yundae Keeravani R N S and T
Natesam Mani rangu
As usual his concert was very nice and closed at 21 10 hrs.
My observation
The hall was full and all enjoyed the speech of kSR
The entire deliberation was in Tamil.
Thani was excellent. V Rajasekar mirudhangam player a disciple of TVG was present till the end.
The 10 mits delay in starting the function was due to late arrival of PSN. He left immediately after the formal ceremony.
A sardarji was present through out the programme.
IMO since this in the memory of a purcussion artiste respectable Rasikas could have stayed for the Thani as a mark of respect to great HS. But the case was different. As usual sizable left the scene immdeiately at the commencement of thani. Unmindful of this S.THYAGARAJAN-MRIDANGAM C.S.VENKATRAMANAN-KANJIRA played well. DELHI SRI.P.SUNDERRAJAN-VIOLIN was equally good. Kudos to the organisers.
I may kindly be excused if any relevant information is left and request for correction.

OST's concert went on for about one and half hours, finishing at about 9.00pm, but it left me feeling completely satisfied. He did not give a short concert, he compressed 2.5 hours into 1.5 hours!
Support was equal and the thani was really good.

KSR's another significant contribution to CM are his three daughters - Mambalam Sisters and Dr Hemalatha. ( In case someone did not know)

the prob in A/V presentation is due to power failure and low voltage.. after invert-er turn on .. the mixer got some prob..
.. the crowed was less that day may be due to many concert that day and wedding date..thanks a lot to all who came there that day and made the event success .
