Pantula ramA has a very soothing voice and balance , one can get a glimpse of smt MLV . US is having great concerts this fall , pantulA, maha ramachandran,malladis , RG's , chitraveena ravikiran and violin duo of AK and Embarkannan. Gruelling travel ,at many places weather not conducive to the throat, hope they give their best , as typically US concerts stretch from 3 to 4 hours.

Hoping to catch a concert of Pantula Rama in the season. I am afraid I cannot make it to any of the venues. Hope others do. SHe is a 'must hear' , in my view.
The first time I heard her was when you sat next to me, taking notes. That's how I know the way you concentrate on putting it all down in your notebook while listening to a concert--with that serious look on your face

i heard her today at the sringeri peetam and boy! was i glad i did... shes just amazing.. will have to post her list and review whenever i can get to it....
we couldnt stop talking about her music and wish it hadnt ended!

Agree with you 100% rajeshnat. I heard her recently and I feel that she has the voice that is similar to Dr. MLV. Dr. Rama seems to follow her style of Pallavi singing too. Most of the reports that I saw of her US tour, she seems to do RTP in every concert, which MLV is quite famous for.

I attended her wonderful concert in San Jose last weekend. There was a kalyANi pallavi, with reference to the trinity.

The rAgamAlika aptly inclucded kharaharapriya, chintAmaNi and kumudakriya - contribution Thyagaraja, Syama Shastry and MD respectively.

I remember you are one of the posters who posted as KalyAni as #1 in Big 5 rAgA preferences. Incidentally the rAgamAliga rAgas are either creations or eka krithis of that respective trinity. Wondering why there is not much posting about pantula's us tour.
