Namaste,
I understand that different Banis have different solkattus. Can someone can shed light on the development of tattakarams or solkattus that are used in Bharatanatyam. Want to know how these solkattus were a few hundred years ago???
Thanks
Sangeetha...

Re: Tattakaram
If I remember correctly Bharataarnava gives some chollu-s in its desi karana-s , also Natyashastra mentions some lik digle digle jhande jhande for purvarangam , which is also why Dr Padma Subrhamanyam has used it in her Purvanrangam.
Go thru all the medieval sanskrit texts post Natyashastra ,and you will find scattered references of these chollus. If I am not mistaken even Sangeet Darpana mentions few.

Thanks.. Yes and agree to Padukka's use of the syllables mentioned in the NS in the Purvangam and she has used them in her choreography of Angaharams as well. I was interested to see there were other references besides NS. Will check out the texts you mentioned.

Even the chapter of Prabandha mentions some patakshara-s in Sarangdeva-s Sangeetratnakarar
