Tribute To Trinity - Dubai - 9 & 10 April

Dubai Music Lovers (DML) proudly announces Carnatic Music Festival – Tribute to Trinity - on 9th & 10th of Aril 2010 at Community Hall, Karama Centre, Karama, Dubai.



This is the 7th consecutive year that DML is organizing such event in Dubai. Previous years had seen DML presenting various great exponents of Carnatic Music of both older/younger generation.



This year DML wishes to dedicate the first day of the event i.e. 9th April 2010 to the legendary Mridangam Maestro, Sangitha Kalanidhi Late Sri. Palghat Raghu. As an apt dedication DML will present a vocal concert by Sri. Abhishek Raghuram, the grandson of Late Sri. Palghat Raghu.



On the second day of the event i.e. on 10th april 2010 – DML will present a vocal concert by Seergazhi Sri. Jayarama Iyer, who has been honoured with the title of “KALAIMAMANI” by the Government of Tamil Nadu, this year. Sri. Jayarama Iyer is the coordinator of DML in Chennai arranging various artists time to time for Dubai concert.



To give able support to the above two mucisians, DML brings Mysore Sri. Srikanth on violin & Srirangam R. Kannan on Morsing. Sri. D. Govindarajan, founder of the DML will accompany them on Mridangam on both days.



Detailed programme:-



09th April 2010 – Friday.



1130 am. Group singing of Pancharatna Krithies led by visiting artists with local artists of U.A.E.



07.00 pm. - Homage to Legendary Mridangam Vidwan, Sangitha Kalanidhi Palghat Sri. R. Raghu, followed by

Carnatic Vocal recital by Sri. Abhishek Raghuram

Mysore Sri. Srikanth on violin

Sri. D. Govindarajan on Mridangam

Srirangam. Sri. R. Kannan on Morsing.



10th April 2010 – Saturday.

06.00 pm to 07.30 pm – details will be given later

07.45 pm to 09.30 pm – Carnatic Vocal recital by Seergazhi Sri. Jayarama Iyer

DML has been actively involved in organising Carnatic Music concerts in Dubai through Akanda Siva Ganam and Akanda Vishnu Ganam for Sivarathri and Vaikunta Ekadasi with the participation of local artists.

We also conduct Chamber concerts with local and visiting artists to propogate Carnatic Music in the Emirate.

I wish to express my immense happiness in knowing that you have chosen to dedicate the first day of the event to the legendary Mridangam Maestro, Sangitha Kalanidhi Late Sri.
