I have never really thought (until now...) how it must be for a dancer who is left-handed to dance for instance, Bharatanatyam where some poses, nadais are predominantly right sided...When I teach dance, I usually do what is laterally inverse so my students find it easy to learn..but, never once wondered how it might be for a person who is completley left-handed to do certain poses that are one- sided, like, (some poses of ) Krishna or Nataraja. I, being right handed, find it difficult to strike some poses on the left, it feels weird.
I would like to know your thoughts...especially those who are left-handed....
Thanks
Kala

Kala,
I'm left-handed, and I do the same thing with my students as you do...
I feel like since I was taught with predominantly right handed poses/mudras from the beginning, I never really found it weird....
But! nowadays, I have to be careful while I dance to make sure that i hold the mudras the right (no pun inteded!) way after holding them laterally inverse for my students to learn.
I doubt left-handers find it any different!
