Any suggestions on a meaningful song describing Radha. It would be great if I can get both the lyrics & meaning for the same.

Jayadeva's ashtapadis have songs on radha although they are to do either with her anguish and torment with a dallying Krishna as in yahi madhava, yahi kesava, or, in the mood of separation, sA virahe tava.....

Radhika, off the top of my head, I can't recall any song that describes rAdhA's person - even in the ashTapadi's the references are fleeting. For example, in sUrdAs' 'bUjhat shAm kOn tU gOrI' (discussed at http://rasikas.org/forums/viewtopic.php? ... -gori.html), which describes how krishNa spots rAdha for the first time on the streets of vraj, and smitten by her beauty, makes enquires about her there is no description of her.

RAdha is definitely the central figure of priye charushIle - the sanjIvana aSTapadi;

the compositions of Utukkadu venkatasubbayyar include atleast 3 songs on rAdha - Brindavana nilaye in rItigaula, one in Kalyani, and another one I can't remember..

And was there a sanskrit piece (of BhAratiyAr??) ehi mudam dEhi rAdhe rAdhE sung by the Radha-jayalakshmi duo..?

Agree - there are many that are on rAdhA, but they do not describe her person - that is left to our imaginations...

Thanks Ravi & Keerthi. I think describing Radha as a person, as Ravi said, is imagination. But the songs suggested here, bUjhat shAm kOn tU gOrI is really nice, the dialogue between Radha & Krishna.
Keerthi, do you have the lyrics of the song that you suggested? I will do my search as well.

Unlike the clip I gave earlier which centers on Radha, this song from the Gita Govindam (12th ashtapadi ?) is of a repentant Krishna pleading with Radha to return to him, while Radha is not mollified at all.......dance clip end at 9.30.....sung by O.S. Arun, very beautiful. Performed by the expressive and beautiful Anita Ratnam, another treat for viewers. There is said to be a excellent rendition by MSS as well.
