Last year we had a seasonal thread for Rasikas to keep track of each others' season concert going. I thought we should do the same again...

Today, I am going to Narada Gana Saba Mini Hall at 2.00, to catch up with Londoner Jyotsna Srikant, who is playing violing for Nisha P Rajagopal.

Hoped to see Arasi at yesterday's program. Arasi... where are you? :)

Tomorrow, for me... 2.00pm, KGS (where I normally never go, on account of that T Nagar Traffic!)

Violin Duet
Vittal Ramamurthy (Violin) and Padma Shankar (Violin)
Srimushnam Raja Rao (Mrdangam) E.M. Subramaniam (Ghatam)

I enjoy Padma Shankar's accompaniment so much, and have been wanting to hear more of her.

This morning I was at the music academy, listening to the immortal music of TN Krishnan. Get lunch at the canteen and then off to liten to Aishwarya Venkataraman at Parthasarathy sabha at 12:00 Noon and Sanjay Subramaniam this evening.

Appu, could you post a review of TNK's and Aishu's concerts if you find time? Thanks.

Bilahari, I did attend both the TNK and Aishu concert. I will post a review later on today after my attendance at Parthasarathy Swami sabha for Prof. SRJ Lec/Dem. Sorry for the delay in posting, but rest assured the review will be up today.

Today I should be at VKV's 80th-Birthday function for VR.

Tomorrow, I am going to make an effort to be at Vedavalli's MA 9.00am program. Those who know me will know that, since I stopped being subject to office discipline, I haven't been much familiar with "9.00am": is the Academy very packed for these morning concerts? Will I get in easily?

(Many of my ex-bosses would comment that I wasn't very familiar with 9.00am even when I was working!)

nick H,

I got a reasonably good seat for the 25 Dec TNK concert, reaching roughly at 9 15. But I'll probably be attending KS at Raga Sudha tomorrow morning. :)

Thanks, srikant. I'll try to be there earlier than 9.00am, maybe have time for tea first. Work begins on draining our water sump at 6.00am, so that it can be cleaned, an intruding root removed, and the damaged check valve replaced. Hopefully I'll be disturbed!

I made it to Vedavalli's program, but nearly didn't due to a misunderstanding with some guy who seemed to be telling me that I needed a ticket and it was sold out! Rescued by Arvind, thankfully. Horrified by audience behaviour at the Acecemy; never seen worse --- might rant about that in another post. You've been warned, so can now avoid my rant ;)

Tonight --- Pandit Birju Maharaj, Hamsadvani at the Youth Hostel, Indira Nagar.

N Ramini and co; Vani Mahal.

Mrs N needs a flute concert, and we have not seen one for a while.

Also, I need to book ticket for tomorrow's performance by Pt Birju Maharaj at the same venue :)
