I got a call from one Ms. Kamini Mathai from TOI. She's doing a piece on rasikas.org tomorrow, and would like to speak with members who've participated in rasika meet-ups during the music season, participated in jam sessions, etc. If you are located in Chennai and would be open to speaking with her, please email me your phone number (to [email protected]) or sms me at (+91) 98414-76101, so I can share it with her.
She would like to be able to speak with you before 6 pm IST today (Dec 14, 2009).
Nick and Uday have already (been) volunteered to be respondents - thanks!

Here's the piece, along with Flickr photos posted on rasikas.org from sessions in previous years (all but one which is a concert pic that accidentally crept in there).

Many thanks Ramki!
Nice to see our familiar members led by the beaming faces of Arasi and cool!
..and you on the veena with kalpakam mami adding respectability to our gatherings!
Make it a great jam session at Nageswaran's on the 20th; we are with you in spirits!
(Don't forget to corner Vijay if you can get him who can give us fine memorable snaps on that occasion!)

Welcome to Media coverage. They will come appearing to cover the best part any event and they will end up highlighting trivials.nick H wrote:Somehow, I didn't think that anything I said would bare any resemblance to anything that got printed in my name
But hey, It's nice to get a mention in the press, and to see the site, and some of the people's names there, so I'm not complaining!

Nick, that's the quality of the media! My grandparents were interviewed a few years ago for an article about old people whose children are NRIs, and my grandfather spoke to the reporter about how he does enjoy travelling to visiting his kids in other countries, but that it would simultaneously be nice if all of them could be in closer proximity to him. The actual article (complete with a photo of my grandparents) had my grandfather viciously bemoaning his fate as his evil children intentionally moved far away from him, ignoring and neglecting him, etc!
