HR&CE is the Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Department of the TN Govt. Eventually it has to spend the money it collects from the temples somehow.
It seems to be a good thing to bring back the lost tradition of temple concerts. I am sure most of the golden era concerts were held as much in temples as in sabhas.
