I recollect my memory of his debut performance in MA some 40 yrs back, his mother carrying him to the dais [ pandal] TNK and other talwarts putting him questions. It was a thrilling experience. excellent. Questions from audiance were answered with handful of chocolates. My blessings to him.

I remember my mother-in-law, Sugandha Raman telling me an interesting incident, when Sri Ravikiran was about 2 or 2 and a half years old. They were visiting 'Coffee Board' Srinivasan's place at Jayanagar. The Srinivasans were our neighbours and good friends. They brought the child over, and asked my mother in law to play ANY random ragas and see the chiild's response.
She says, that she sat in the living room and played all sorts of ragas - sahana, kedaragoula, valachi, behag - you name it - and this kid was running around, not even sitting still to listen, and saying (he could not even properly speak the raga names -he was so young!) " Ippo chaaana vanduduthu" or "Ippo Kedaagoua vandudu" and even in the middle, demanding a biscuit!!
She was speechless!
He would naturally not remember this, being only 2 years old then - but he can ask his father!
Best wishes, Sri Ravikiran!

With the overwhelming support of music lovers and musicians, the event went off fine. Digintaries like Prof C V Chandrashekhar, Trichur Ramachandran, Charumati Ramachandran, Alarmel Valli, M Chandrashekharan, V S Narasimhan, etc attended and showered their blessings.

Indeed Nick, I wholeheartedly agree with you.
Kudos to my friends, the disciples of Ravikiran - Savita, Subhalakshmi, Bhargavi, Divya Ramesh, Girija Shankar and others - for pulling off a class act. It was a superb and appropriate tribute to one of the greatest Carnatic musicians of all time and one of the most astonishing phenomenons of our times - the rare case of an amazing child prodigy mature into a versatile genius and an excellent, balanced, modest human being. There must be a thing called "divine grace" for sure.
It was touching to see the genuine affection and respect that the mahavidvan trio on the stage - Shri BMK, Shri UKS and Shri TNS - accorded Ravikiran. Equally touching was the tribute from other vidvans who could not be present such as Shri TNK and Shri Tiruvarur Bhaktavatsalam.
Other vidvans present in the audience to grace this occasion, apart from those mentioned by Divya, were Smt Suguna Varadachari, Smt Suguna Purushotam, Shri Sriram Gangadharan, Shri A K Palanivel, Smt Anuradha Sriram, Smt T Rukmani, Smt Lalgudi Vijayalakshmi, Smt Jayalakshmi (of Radha-Jayakshmi), Shri Manakkal Rangarajan, Shri K V Prasad, Shri Manoj Shiva and probably many others I missed...
It was particularly touching to see 88 year old Smt Kalpagam Swaminathan present and it was my profound privilege to drive her back home after the initial ceremonies.
A superb albeit short Katcheri by veteran Shri R K Srikantan accompanied by Shri Sriram Parasuram, Shri UKS and Shri Karthick topped of a great evening.
