Dear Rasikas,

Can anyone please tell me when the Thyagaraja aradhana in thiruvaiyaru is going to be held. I read that it will be held on 5th of Jan 2010, but I'm not sure as somewhere else it was mentioned as 6th . It would be helpful if anyone could confirm the date. As I'm planning to go there to see the aradhana and the rendering of the Pancharatna Kritis.

Thanks,
Aditya R

Aradhana is held everyyear on Pushya bahula panchami, thats the fifth day after full moon day in the month of Pushya. In simple words, the month will start on the day after amavasya in the month of December or Margazhi in Tamil. This year mostly it would be on 5th january as you mentioned

This is one event which is a mockery in the name of paying respects and tributes to the Great Saint.

Thanks a lot baboosh! Is there no official source on when it would be held? Given that this is one of the most celebrated festivals for Carnatic music(I am not going to go into the internal politics of it ).

Vincent, thanks for the info and link.

"fringe" - A bad choice of word on Kutcheribuzz's part. I see they do not mean any disrespect, but still.....
