Hi,
Could anyone throw light on "panca mukha gaNapati" as described by Dikshitar in the kriti "panca- mAtanGga-mukha-gaNapati" ?
Dikshitar mentions that this Ganapati is in Tiruvarur (in the line " kamalApura vihArENa"). I have been to Tiruvarur but I don't recollect having seen a panca mukha gaNapati. Or have I missed it?

Me too! My friend, who happens to be a temple buff like me, has been to Tiruvarur many times but even he says that he has not noticed a panca mukha ganapati. In fact some doubt that shodasha ganapati kritis were written on 16 different forms of ganapati at Tiruvarur. This article is very interesting in this respect:
