NSG,
An illuminating program, it promises to be! Students, young and old can find a place under this kallAl (tree of learning) to realize the meaningful conncections of music, literature and culture. From the announcement at the end it seems as though it airs late at night. We lament the lack of classes in the arts and culture at school. Parents can tape the programs and watch them with their children at a convenient hour.
Your many-sided personality as a musician, scholar in literature, in music and the scriptures, both in tamizh and sanskrit, and your sense of humor too, is just right for this program. The professor makes it very interesting too.
Is this the very first program? If so, how appropriate that it started under the kallAl (the tree of learning) and with guru vandanam!
Conversations with you are an experience in themselves, as those who have met you can vouch. Even with the constraints of time, this program will bring out that aspect of you to the viewers.
You spoke about integration while speaking of MD. This is the kind of message which will guide the young when they pursue CM and other arts--seeing music connected with other aspects of culture--and without boundaries as in the case of MD, the way bArati envisioned it too...
