Very interesting that the lack of a space causes a crisis of gender identity - from kapAlI nI, to kapAlini, but then again, he is ardhanAri/sAmba Siva - :P

Smt Lalitha Shivakumar has cleverly woven the raga name into the sahityam.

Yes - Smt. Lalita Sivakumar is a very erudite composer - for instance, the first couple of words, how ever they are split are full of meaning and mean different things - I can think of at least 3 ways:

kapAli nI - you (nI) Siva (as the kapAlik)

kapAlini - pArvati (the consort of the kapAlik, SivA)

kA pAlini - protect me (kA) oh nourishing mother (pAlini)

But the succeeding words dictate that the first split is indeed the correct one...
