Too bad I didn't know of it when I visited Chennai last december. In fact, I was even browsing at that Royapettah book store (before the jam session). Obviously didnt look hard enough.
This sounds like a treasure house of information from highly respected (highly knowledgeable and also highly entertaining) musicologist.
