hello rasikas users,did any body know flute playing.if so please help me i didnt know how to play prathimadhyama in flute(that is fingring) that is why i cant learn the other 36 ragas which were in prathimadhyama out of 72 ragas.please if any body knows playing the flute or if you know any body playing flute tell them and solve my problem.why i am asking is i am very intrested in learning kalyani for that prathimadhyama is very much reqiured.

With your ring and little finger, close the corresponding holes half way until the prathimadyamam is sounded.

Please do not treat this answer as a substitute for learning this properly from a teacher. As is the norm with CM, there are raga specific subtle things involved, especially kalyani, so knowing the finger position of the swarasthanam is just the beginning.

Hello Subbarathnam,

I am not aware of a female flute teacher in that area. But my flute master (male, though) is from BTM Layout. If interested, I can give the details. He may also be able to assist you in locating a female flute teacher.
