Really nice video...
I really didn't know that Erode sir was differently abled. But, as CML said, you are musically very much able, Erode sir. All the best to you! =)

As far as I am concerned, all musicians are differently abled. Almost every necessary ability, beginning with amazing memory, astonishes me.
However, as to its normal use in the Indian media, I greatly dislike the phrase. The loss of one ability, or the lack of function in one part of the body, does not necessarily mean any other ability is there. My failing hearing is a disability; it offers nothing in return. Differently-abled is just a mixture of bad English and misplaced 'political correctness'.
Oh right... Off-topic rant... Sorry!

SK Krishnamurthy - Don't know much about him (but SK is part of his name!)
SK M Chandrashekaran - became an SK not too long ago - a well deserved award
(SK) Erode Nagaraj - a future potential SK awardee a deserving disciple of SK UKS sir; the maestro who has SK built into his name both forwards and backwards
( I pray to heaven I that I will be among you when we celebrate that final event at this Forum!)

Perhaps misplaced was the wrong word. Mis-worded perhaps? I agree entirely with your post, of course.coolkarni wrote:Political correctness alright .But definitely not misplaced.
It is very much needed for our Society which is yet to get sensitised to a whole gamut of issues.
"Challenged" is the most acceptable one in circulation , BTW.

thank you all.. thanks to make us aware that such a video is available in youtube and for all your concern and care...
this shooting happened last year or before at thathvalOkA, eldams road, a video made for ability foundation or ability awards...
every soul is an able soul only... in what way it has scored or what it lacks only differ.
after reading an introduction to the audince, after main and thani, one sabha - mama adviced me to avoid stating 'orthopaedically handicapped' in my resume. but, i continue to state as it will be some sort of encouragement for people like me or people who lack enthusiasm. (also, it prevents many other things like (some)people pulling me while doing a hand shake, which i avoid

Shri S.Krishnamurthy, acted in Bala's Naan Kadavul too...
I remember I wrote this here, after this recording..
http://rasikas.org/forums/post56979.html#p56979
A week ago, I played a recording with Sangeetha Kalanidhi Shri M.Chandhrasekaran and when he said "kai romba nannaa irukku, nagaraja...." [Nagaraj, your playing and nadham is good (again an idiom!)], I felt honoured and also thought of keeping it up.
When maestros like them say something that too, in a concert where lot of vidwans and rasikas have assembled it carries more value.
yes, i remember you, samji...

Erode:
Actually coolkarni will be able to state this much better than I can. You guys are the inspiration for many of the physically challenged. They should all adopt the O'Bama slogan 'Yes We Can'. As much as you are not hiding your talents similarly you should not hide your deficiency too! Aptly you said 'every soul is an able soul only'.
If you feel like it do share your struggle and success through this Forum to inspire the diffident ones that may be visiting here who desperately need your words of encouragement.

The choreography is really impressive.
And this video clip shows the training provided at Sri Ramana Maharshi Academy:

It includes CM vocal and mridangam training, in addition to other areas.

Makes us wonder--with all the light which shines on everything in this world, don't we take our vision for granted?
BTM Music Acedemy holds its concerts in the very same Ramana Maharishi School. They are reviewed at the forum once in a while. The students there come to listen to most of the concerts. You can see that a majority of them get drawn into the music and keep tALam with gusto.
