could someone kindly provide the meaning of the following tillana carana-s ? The first is from a mayamalavagaula tillana, the second one from a bilahari tillana [as sung by Sudha Ragunathan].

vElA = one who carries a spear (vEl) i.e. murugan
vaDivElA = I have always interpretted this to refer to the 'handsome one, holding the vEl
jnAna vElA = murugan who carries the spear of knowledge (to destroy ignorance)
shakti vElA = two meanings: the one carrying the spear of his mother (shakti), or the one who carries the spear of strength, to protect the weak
veTri vElA = the victorious murugan
kadir vElA = No idea what kadir means
krSNadAsan = the poet/composer Madurai N. Krishnan's mudra
paNindiDum = (the one) whom (the poet) bows down to
Oh! The victorious and handsome wielder of the spear (vEl) that destroys ignorance and protects the weak, you are the one that I (the poet, Krishnadasan) bow down to.

manadai = (his) mind/desire
arindu = understanding
mahA = great
viddaigaLai = feats
kaTru = (having) learned
mahAdEvanai maNandiTTu = marrying Siva
dAsan = (your) servant/slave
kRSNanai = the composer Sri. Madurai N. Krishnan
kAkka = protect

Oh Queen of Madurai, who learned to perform great feats to please her father, and who married Lord Siva, it is now time to protect your devoted slave, srI kRSNan.
(The myth is that malayadhwajan, and his wife kAnchanamAlA were childless, and performed a 'putrakAmeshTI' yAga...from the sacrificial fire arises a beautiful and divine baby girl who is perfect in every way, except for a supernumerary nipple...a formless voice is heard to proclaim that when this girl meets her 'match' the nipple/breast will disappear. The king and queen adopt the baby and she grows into the beautiful Princess mInAkshi. To relieve her father's anxiety about the safety of the kingdom after his death and the lack of a male heir, she learns martial arts and rAjanIti - the art of governance, and emerges as a fabulous warrior princess - like Boudicca of the Icenis. She is crowned Queen of madurai after her father's death and proceeds to conquer armies and kingdoms expanding the pAnDya empire and arrives at kailAsh. In Dr. Padma Subramanian's mInAkshi kalyANam ballet, AFAIR the battles are depicted to the refrain, 'mInavaL ezhuNdAL, ezhuNdu dikvijayam sheidu vandAL' - At the foothill of the mount kailAsh, she defeats SivA's gaNAs. When Siva himself arrives to defend his realm, mInAkshi realises that her extra nipple has disappeared and they fall in love with each other. Siva, realizing that he is seeking the hand of a 'queen', comes to madurai, not as a mendicant as is his wont, but as a dazzlingly handsome young man attired like a king - sundarESwara, the handsome one - or SokkanAthan - on beholding whom, the masses swoon, and marries her. When she is finally married, her mother is relieved that her 'tomboy' of a daughter has finally been 'tamed' - giving rise to the now famous wedding song '(mInAkshi) kaNNUnjal ADi irundAL, kAnchanamAlai manam magirzhndAL').
