Dance Hall in Pune?

Hi there Puneites, Parimal!
I am planning to perform in Pune during July...I am looking for an auditorium, but not too expensive (although it is a subjective term!)...one of my acquaintances suggested YashwantRao Chauhan Natya Gruha...it seems they charge Rs.3600 for the rental....I am not familiar with Pune all that much ..so, I welcome any inputs from you regarding a cost effective and easily available auditorium.

Hi DanceKala,

Parimal will surely be a good source.
If you want it in the heart of Pune go for 'Tilak Smarak Mandir' which might be little expensive. Bharat Natya Mandir - is also located in the heart of the city and relatively less expensive. At least it used to be.
There is another in Sahakar nagar ( not to far from city) Muktangan - it is an open theater though.
If you know the area that you prefer to perform , you could also ask in near by schools and rent from them for any of the Sunday.

Would love to know what you are planning on performing and why in Pune.

Dear Poonmahe,
Thank you so much for getting back to me! I am planning to visit India in June and I have a performance in B'lore on July 19th at 6:00p.m at JSS Auditorium. Since I would be visiting Pune beginning of july, I thought of rendering a performance there as well. I am guru.Bhanumati's student who incidentally lived in Pune for good number of years...she is settled in B'lore for quite sometime now. I am a Bharatanatyam dancer (Vazhavur style).
I don't have good resources in Pune who would coordinate and arrange a performance. I am waiting to hear back from Yashwant rao Natya Gruha people...I guess it is a Govt run place and they don't gurantee anything. Well, at least i will be better prepared for next time if this doesn't work out.

If you can get me info abt the contact person of Bharat Natya Mandir, I would appreciate it greatly!

If indeed something works out, I will certainly let you...I would love for you to come
