Prashant, I checked the lyrics again - in the pallavi, it is 'unnaiyE tu-illaiyOr gati'. I am not really sure what this means, and I have translated it contextually. If the sAhityam is wrong, I hope it will be corrected, or provide the right meaning if I have made a mistake in my contextual translation:
pallavi
kAmAkshi gauri kAnci pura nAyaki varadAyakI
karuNA payOnidhi unnaiyallAdu ilaiyOr gati (kAmAkshi gauri)
Oh kAmAkshI! She of the fair/white complexion (gaurI)! The mistress (nAyakI) of the city (pura) of kAncI! Granter (dAyaki) of desired boons (vara)! Ocean (payOnidhi -literally, ocean of milk) of compassions (karuNA)! If not (allAdu) for you (unnai), there is no (illai) other (Or) refuge (gati).
anupallavi
AmO unakku en mIdu pArAmukham
AmO ammmA mei anbarai ALum (kAmAkshi gauri)
Is it appropriate (AmO) [1] for you (unakku) to be negligent (pArAmukham) [2] towards (mIdu) me (en)? Will it ever be appropriate (AmO) (to be so negligent), oh mother (ammA) who graces and rules over (ALum) devotees (anbarai) who are true/sincere (mei)?
caraNam
mAmarattaDiyil ezhundaruLum EkAmbrESvara bhUmi linga mUrti
manOhari rAjarAjESvari SrI tripura sundari
SrI mahAlakshmi kalaimagaL paNi pada tAmarai pugal tiru uLLam aRiyAdA
SrI varadarAja sOdari Sankari rAmadAsan paNiyum bhuvanESvari (kAmAkshi gauri)
Oh rAja rAjESvarI, tripura sundarI [3]! You are the delighter (manOhari) of SrI EkAmrESvara (EkAmbrESvara) [4] who has graciously appeared (ezhundaruLum) in the form (mUrti) of a bhUmi lingam [5] under (aDiyil) a mango (mA) tree (marattu) in kAncIpuram! Oh mistress (IsvarI) of the entire world (bhuvana), the consort of Sankara (SnakarI), the sister (sOdarI) of vishNu (SrI varadarAja), to whom the composer (rAmadAsan) bows down to (paNiyum), is your heart (tiru uLLam) unaware (aRiyAdA) of my desire to seek refuge (pugal) at the lotus (tAmarai)-like feet (pada) of yours that are revered (paNi) by lakshmI (SrI mahAlakshmI) and sarasvatI (kalaimagaL)?
FOOTNOTES
[1] AmO = AgumO
[2] pArAmukham literally means, not seeing (pArA) one's face (mukham)"¦
[3] tripura sundarI - someone whose beauty is unrivalled in the three (tri) worlds (pura)
[4] & [5] pAravti once closed Siva's eyes playfully when he was involved in the act of creation and preservation, and unimaginable chaos ensued on earth. pArvatI was cursed to descend to earth and perform penance to both expiate her sins as well as to be reunited with Siva - legend has it that pArvati worshipped Siva in the form of a lingam made of sand/earth under a single (Eka) mango (Amra) tree in kAncIpuram. Pleased with her austerities, Siva appeared under the tree and was reunited with her and became known as EkAmranAtha - the Lord of the lone mango tree. bhUmi lingam refers to the fact that the EkAmrESvara temple in kAncI is one of the pancabhUta sthalams - representing prithvi lingam. The sthala vriksham is an ancient mango tree with 4 branches that represent the 4 vEdAs - the tree is supposed to bear one mango per branch.

Ravi and Lakshman Sir - thanks for the lyrics, detailed translation and accompanying anecdotes which tie all the information together. A very nice song in adi 2-kaLai chaukam which doesn't seem to have had much exposure on the concert stage other than from Sri DKJ and his disciple Sri Vijay Siva.
