nAna deshagallali nAna kAlagallai
nAna yOnigallali nelidu hutti
What a surprising truth!! Only Purandaradasar can write words like this!! And, he is soaking this rich literature in to music and delivering us this divine nectar!
nEne gathi yendu nambida dAsana mEle
Complete words of surrender to Sri Hari!! What devotion!! Such an apt raga - Kalyana Vasantham!! This composition in certainly unforgettable!!

does any one have an mp3 file of:
Kandena Kanasiniali Govindana (Not Kandena Govindana) this krithi is Ragamalika and I think it begins with Bageshri
Also, Shri Kanaka Dasa's: Baagilanu teredu sevayanu kodu Hariye... (I have Shri Vidya Bhushana's rendering and I am looking for any other artists)
Both vocal only please.
Thanks.

'Baagilanu Theredu' - there is one good rendering by P B Srinivas (the film I guess is Bhakta Kanakadasa)

Cool Sir, you brought the issue of the lack of interest in vacana sAhitya of mahAdEvi and basavaNNa and wondered whether you had some clips of renditions set in Carnatic rAgas. I have heard the ever-popular "cakOrangE" (mahAdEvi?) and there's one commercial recording of MS Sheela wherein she renders some pieces but in semi-classical tunes but still a nice hear. Apparently they're also jAvaLis in the kannaDa language that don't get featured in on the concert stage as well.

I have also heard Kannada actor Rajkumar singing Baagilanu teredu sevayanu kodu Hariye but more in a semi classical form.It is Kanaka Dasa's moving pieces and I guess it intrinsically strikes you when you peek into the small door to look at Krishna in all his glory, while in Udupi.rrao13 wrote:does any one have an mp3 file of:

Another of Kanaka Dasa's immortal one is Baaro Krishnayya....The ugaboga that precedes this piece has been one of MLVs masterpieces. I have heard Sudha singing this too and she does equal justice. The knowledge of the language is so very important while rendering the powerful ugabogas

thanks to all contributors to this thread with its rich content of kannada songs. Ive been looking without much luck for the lyrics and meaning of the song 'Rogaharane Krupasagara' in Ragam Bhagyasree by Jagannatha Vittaladasar . I have Bombay Sisters' recording of the same but could not grasp the Charanam lyrics fully . Would be great if someone can post the same and maybe even upload the song if it qualifies for inclusion here .

When we are talking about vachanas, I think posting this link won't be inappropriate. The following post has two vachanas - one rendering from a dance concert, and one from a hindustani recital.

The last video clip in the following post features a vachana from a concert.
