On behalf of Sunadham and my father-in-law Shri Soolamangalam M Rammohan I am privileged to invite all rasikas (specifically the "rasikas"!) to attend and participate in Shri Radhakalyana Utsavam in memory of Brahmashri Soolamangalam Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar.

I have been listening to OS Sundar's Astapathis.

I am moved by OS Sunder's renditions of slokam and Astapathi rendition; esp. the kalyana astapathi - Radhavadana ....

OS Sunder's Bhajans are more traditional, while OS Arun Bhajans seems to have mass appeal.

Uday,
Today's OST's concert was one of the best in recent memory. Were you the one in green kurta? I wanted to introduce myself, but you were busy. Anyway, a great job and a memorable concert!

It was a wonderful morning. Sri O S Sundar and party sang with utmost devtion, and the 2 hours session was filled with bhakthi and great music. Listening to music in a non concert atmosphere is a totally different experience. Everything except bhakthi take a back seat and the result is bhava filled music , music in its prestine form devoid of any frills.

Thanks to Uday and his family for the wonderful oppurtunity and a tasty lunch.

Was really hoping to make it to OST's concert with Nagai Muralidharan on the violin. Somehow completely slipped out of my mind!

Thanks everyone for the good wishes. Thanks srinivasrgvn, kedharam (yes! I was a green kurta wallah), rajumds and others for attending and helping making this function a grand success.

All credit goes to the indefatigable Shri Rammohan whose astonishing range of talents help make these functions a grand success. Apart from organizing the whole thing over months, making speeches and presenting shawls, he also found time to lead a namasankeertanam session himself, participate in the radha kalyanam, play the khanjira, play the dholak and dance around the deepam.

No small thanks to Prof T R Subramaniam and Shri Cleveland V V Sundaram who were anointed as the chief guests of the inaugural function since the designated chief guests were unable to make it for various reasons. Shri Rammohan gave a superb account of the life of Soolamangalam Vaidyanatha Bhagavathar which was followed by a characteristically excellent speech by Shri V V Sundaram. Prof T R Subramaniam added his touches in his inimitable way.

srinivasrgvn above has succintly summarized the Gayathri Venkataraghavan katcheri. This young lady has a great voice, great vidwat and most of all a wonderful attitude. One is instinctively drawn to invoke good blessings on her behalf and wishing her continued success.

Shri O S Sundar's and his wonderful group's sessions on both days were soaked with bhakti and the music was outstanding. I will get the names of all the participants and post it here.

Shri O S Tyagarajan's fine katcheri has been reviewed in the katcheri reviews section.

The strain of all this has taken toll of Shri Rammohan's health this morning and we pray for his speedy recovery.

Wish Shri Rammohan a speedy recovery.

Reading the reviews, it seems to be a very good program. When time permits, please load some portions of the concert online.

Uday,

Hope your father-in-law feels well. He was a picture of enthusiasm all three days. When Sri. OST requested Mr. Narasimhan to speak a few words, your father- in-law's comment, "nAn rendu vArthai pEsarEn, adhaiyum kElungO" was simply hilarious! The ambience of the hall added so much to the function. I feel bad that i missed some of our forum members. Hope you can upload OST's thOdi ragam AlApanai - something to be preserved! Again, congrats!
