Earthworms... I should have known!

But I don't suppose many of you have the experience of getting a tune stuck in your head and being completely unable to sing it because you don't know raga.

Thanks Girish - interesting article. No wonder my favourites songs are those of Poonchi's!

Is a Poonchi related to a Boochi?

(Arasi! Help! Before I get myself into trouble ;))

Nick.
I don't know a Poonchi. But a pUchi is an insect. Is an earthworm an insect? A bug? Does an earworm fly like a gnat or your favorite mosquito to get there? Anyway, I would any day have a poochi (Srinivasa Iyengar song) as an ear worm than some inane ad song.

...that's what I meant. I must check out the p/b with sushi; I thought she had been calling the creatures that come to live in our cats' fur bUchis

I sure do but that doesn't deter me from conducting noise warfare on my neighbors. ;-)

One of the suggestions given to possibly get rid of it is

'Walk to a different tempo from the one in the earworm."

That is quite an intriguing suggestion indeed.

naDaiyai mATRi naDaiyaik kaTTuvadu! (change the tempo and take a hike!). Good idea, VK...
