Re: Season's greetings-2025
Years come, years go
As they do, we hope for
more meaning every time
At Rasikas--in music, surely
Which we here love and care for
A year of surprises it has been
Traditions yielded to new ways
Of looking at the ancient art, yes
But tagging along questionable
Values, we felt, at the very center
Of decades of nurtured music
Revolutions bring forth changes, yes
But not always--even the noblest of them
History says are lost causes--so friends,
Fret not, don't take it to heart, a mere
ripple in the river, for good or bad, whatever!
Don't lose heart, good music will live on
In spite of noises and lots of nonsense
Listen to your kind of music--cheer on
Children and young singers who are there
To make you happy with all that soothes
By way of meaningful music of substance
That way, what elevates us will stay with us
What inspires and sustains us will live in us too!
Thank you, Lakshman, Savithri and Nick for your kind wishes to us all!
I add my own wishes for a good and healthy year to all the members--old and new

Arasi
Very lovely post , you should make it this year
VGV Sir,
That song is the most hyped one . Once in a concert for a vidwan that song was requested by the audience, the vidwan was perplexed.

Thank you Govindan, for your bringing the song and Sivaji!
For your ensuing post too. Yes, viNA still stands for the deep roots of our music.
Special wishes for good health to you and to yours.
Yes, Rajesh. I am hoping to be there for the next season, the forces above granting!
As for the request for the song in a concert--why not? It's a meaningful song and won't surely be the first popular song from a movie! How about MKT's hits and a few of PSivan's film songs that we hear occasionally on the Carnatic stage?

Yes, Rajesh. I am hoping to be there for the next season, the forces above granting!
